트리니티가 오토바이의 거울속으로 네오가 잡혀가는 모습을 보는데요. 거울, 안경 등에 비쳐서 나오는 장면은 이 후에도 끊임없이 반복 됩니다. 거울 속 이미지들이 자주 나오는 것은 '거울에 비친 것은 허상' 이라는 것을 나타낸다고 생각됩니다. 거울 속이 아닌 실제 세계는 따로 있는 것이죠. 그것이 바로 매트릭스와 실제세계의 관계입니다.
특이할 만한 점은, 거울 속에서는 슬로우 모션이라는 건데요. 매트릭스 프로그램의 불완전성을 보여준다고 생각됩니다. 즉 반대로 주변의 시간흐름에 반해서 아주 느리게 혹은 아주 빠르게 사건이 진행될 수 있다는 것이지요. (요원이 총알을 피하는 것등도 이런 매트릭스의 불완전성에 근거한 것일 것입니다.)
