자주 나오는 걸 보니 'free your mind'는 정말 중요하긴 한가봅니다.

네오는 열심히 뒤에서 도움닫기를 해서 점프를 하지만 떨어지고 맙니다. 뒤에서 도움닫기를
한다는 것은 멀리 뛰기 위해 가속도를 붙여야 할 필요성을 느꼈다는
것인데요. 모피어스의 말을 빌려보자면 ''내가 이렇게 높이 멀리
뛴 것이 내 다리 근육의 강도와 몸의 가볍기와 상관이 있을까? 이
컴퓨터 프로그램 속에서?' 네오는 아직 멀었습니다.

마우스는 실망하고, 사이퍼는 좋아합니다. 네오는 다른 사람과
다를 게 없었다는 거지요. 스위치는 냉정한 반응.

Neo: If you're killed in the Matrix, you die here?
Morpheus: Your body cannot live without the mind.
깨어나서 입에서 피가난 것에 대해 묻자 모피어스는 이렇게
대답합니다. 'your mind makes it real' 번역하면 '생각하기 나름이다'
라는 정도로 할 수도 있겠지만 이것은 단어 뜻 그대로 받아들여야
합니다. 원래는 real이 아닌데 mind가 그것을 실제로 만든다make
it real라는 것이지요. 이 말은 나중에 네오가 요원의 총을 맞고
다시 살아나는 이유를 설명하는 중요한 대사입니다. 실제처럼 보이는
매트릭스 안에서의 사건들을 mind 가 받아들이지 않는다면? 네,
초이가 말한 대로 it never happend. 네오가 '매트릭스 안에서 죽으면
여기서도 죽느냐?' 라는 질문에 'yes'가 아니라 your body cannot
live without the mind 마음없이 몸은 살 수 없다 라고 대답하는
것을 눈여겨 보세요. 거꾸로 말하면 매트릭스 안에서 죽더라도 마음이
존재하면 죽지 않습니다.
Cypher: I don't remember you bringing me dinner. There is something about him, isn't there?
Trinity: Don't tell me you're a believer now?
Cypher: I just keep wondering, if Morpheus is so sure, why doesn't he take him to see the Oracle?
