마지막 설계자의 방. 설계자와의 대화를 하면서 나타나는
모티너의 움직임을 기억하시나요? 여러개의 모니터에는 네오의 얼굴이
나오고 각기 다른 말과 다른 반응을 하는 가운데, 카메라는 하나의
모니터를 점점 크게 비춰 주고 그 모니터 안에 있던 네오가 다시
화면 중앙의 네오가 되는 장면 말입니다. 모든 모니터는 '가능성(확률)'들을
나타내고 선택되어진 하나 외에는 모두 제외되어버립니다.

Archetects Room and Quantum Physics
So you got this room, with all kinds
of monitors showing possible paths, and the camera moves through the monitors
during some of the "choices" into another room. That is the cinematography of
the archetect scene. Each screen shows a posible reaction for neo to exhibit,
and the camera "enters" the screen with the chosen reaction.
Now, what
is the point of this post. Quite simply, after seeing this scene a few times it
clicked. I was reading a recent article in scientific american about paralel
universes. In one "level" of theorised multiverses (level III: quantum
multiverse), it states the idea of there are many many many universes, and they
are all sort of like snapshots, and we are constantly jumping from one of these
to another (like the camera in the archetect scene), and we perseve this
movement (which would be 4 dimentional movement, and time being an illusion
created by this movement) as change, choice and time.
I was always
bouncing the idea around in my head that this is what was being illustrated in
the archetect scene. But it was yesterday that I acctually started believing it
was true, when I read the news article "Wacky Wachowskis" where it stated: "Andy
spends hours discussing philosophy and quantum physics in coffee shops."
So, given this perspective, one might say that The One's path is a
somewhat specified 4 dimentional pathway through a quantum multiverse. So play
with that idea over in the speculation forum!
I just thought I should
throw that idea out here, see if there are any takers.
